Hey again.

Here he is again, this time in colour! I wanted a ref sheet sort of thing, so I tossed together this boring-but-effective pose quickly and slapped some paint on it.

Warning, long ramble about why I'm making this dude below, skip to the bottom if you don't care.

Alright, so here's the deal with this guy. He's based off a combination of my western zodiac sign and my Chinese zodiac animal. I've always thought it neat how much I lucked out in these areas- some people are a crab, or like some shitty scales or whatever, whereas mine's a lion. That's awesome. And the Chinese zodiac? A dragon! Other signs are stuff like tiger, rat, dog... all great mind you, but a dragon would literally eat those for breakfast and still be hungry. 'Cause dragons are awesome. It's worth noting that I find no special significance in the zodiacs in any way, I'm not into astrology. I just think I got a really awesome set, is all. :P

So I always thought it would be fun to make a character based on a mix of those two signs, but I never really had a reason to. I didn't really use characters much, and when I did want a male character to fill a spot I had Ru! Thing is, I changed the 'Ru' character a while back to be something that I felt more comfortable having as a 'sona. Something that represented me a bit better- a pasty, out of shape trash animal, haha. It's been great and I feel quite at home with him as a 'sona, but he was never really designed to be physically appealing. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind drawing him in naughty things when asked, it's always fun and it's pretty awesome that other people out there -do- seem to like him, but he doesn't really do it for me that way. He wasn't supposed to.

Since then I've been thinking it would be nice to have a character that I'm at least a little closer to, that has some meaning for me (however skin deep) that I could still find appealing in smutty situations. This seemed like a good fit for the job. He's not really going to be a second 'sona or anything like that, but if nothing else a male character that I have some small degree of attachment to instead of just random sexy things like all my other characters of the past, hah. Maybe it'll make me want to actually give the fellow some personality and a bit of backstory or something, who knows.

Anyway, for now, lion/dragon dude. What do you think? He's gonna need a name... anyone got any interesting ideas? I'd love to know your thoughts!
