April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.
For some further information on what the bill does have a look at https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2586/
We still have a Discord server, come talk to us!

MemberI'm a bit confused, where's the burmecian?
Roboshi
MemberThere's this weird thing where this one guy has a character that's part burmecian, but they have no aspects that are even remotely rodent-like.
It's pretty annoying really when they could easily say they were part rat or part mouse without linking their character to a species they have no intentions of using properly.

Roboshi
MemberBecause Final Fantasy 9 told us what a burmecians cock looks like and the ears are no different from a fox or other pointy eared animal.
Look i'm not telling you how to design your character, i'm just saying that I keep seeing the same "why burmecian?" comments over and over on your characters art. And this could be easily avoided if you just swapped burmecian tags to "rat" or rat hybrid.
It's good art, it just doesn't belong in this tag. When someone looks up the burmecian tag they're just gonna find it weird that they're seeing someones fursonna that claimed they've got burmecian blood like they're some white college student claiming they're 5% native american.

MemberJust let the dude have his character, man. It's a non-issue- if someone was bothered about it coming up in the burmecian searches they could blacklist the character tag and immediately solve the problem.
Roboshi
MemberAnd he can still be that, but with all you art being outside the FF9 world and with your character having very little rat-like about him. The tag isn't really of any use except causing other people confusion.
Look it's clear this character means a lot to you and he can still be part burmecian in his bio. but the tag just doesn't belong. It's like of you looked for "cat" and got a lizard with a cat-ear headband.
Well that's the thing it is an issue of what tags mean. Otherwise someone could just put "mobian" on every furry image of theirs to show up in the sonic-the-hedgehog tag. If tags aren't enforced then there's no point in having them and asking everyone else to blacklist an artist just so he can have his tag is a bit selfish on his part.
And anyway, I actually LIKE this art and wouldn't mind seeing it any of the other tags like "rat" or "Hybrid" but the point of having a tag for a specific species is to find that specific species not anything that looks vaguely like it otherwise you might as well be sticking the "ditto (pokemon)" tag on every single picture (though that would be a nice april fools for the site).
