  • I'm a cow, can't you see that I live in the country
    Moo-oo...I'm a cow.
Get your mind out the gutter, get your hand off my udder
    Moo-oo...I'm a cow
Chew my cud, eat my hay, same old damn thing every day
Farmer Brown's not what he seems,
he gets off on milking me

the fact is if animals had rights like people, we would go extinct.

Doubt it. Likely we'd be better off. It takes roughtly 10 times more resources to produce meat and other animal products than plants. That's counting the same nutritional value.

Now if plants had rights... we'd be screwed.

There's a bunch of parasites that also count as animals... it's not just the food.

Except that the 'nutrition' you are talking about is incomplete and lacks essential amino acids and complex proteins that we need. Purely vegan diets are very finicky and hard to maintain over long periods of time without coming down with nutritional deficiencies... we're OMNIvores after all, and are meant to eat at least some meat by design even if we can temporarily survive without it.
