News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

  • Well, I kinda missed fighting pages in TwoKinds.

And I guess Tom wants to eliminate one of the characters.

Or Rose and Trace will arrive WINGED HUSSARS style.

I hope it's the latter, I don't want one of my favorite characters to die.

I can't believe Maddie fucking died

    Don't think that's the case.

More likely Rose will save them instead. She's the one who knows how to work the house.

    Then again...

Poorly written and wildly overrated webcomic with very mediocre art. There's far better furry ones available.

It's well written feel good material. That said there HAS been consequence.

Anyone remember Laura? Or Eric's choice to call Kathrin his sister?

Honestly, Twokinds is probably the most well-drawn SFW furry comic.

  • Can we agree to disagree? You can love/hate twokinds all you want, but can we not turn the comment section into an argumentative downvote fest?

Or do. I can grab popcorn.

    I can agree to that.

My only issue...is one I'll keep to myself because I just realized that might insight arguments even if it's about incorrect information

  • That's probably a broken rib or something though trace will probably enter that room it's guarding and learn more about his past.

laura was a nobody character before the basitin isles, literally two panels ever mentioned her and then she appears in a few pages of the basitin arc before blowing up, she interacted with the cast maybe a total of 5 times before dying
and eric not fucking his mongrel sister-keidran isn't a consequence, it was one line at the end of a chapter that resulted in kat being upset for 2 pages

I second this. I didn't mention it in my previous comment to avoid a downvote parade, but hey. It didn't work.

A dissertation why Dreamkeepers is better than Twokinds: https://youtu.be/Ozpws6z3kzw

Please watch it before you send this comment to downvote hell as well.

    Dreamkeepers

You know these comments kind of make me want to put a more elavorate point forward.

Twokinds is by no means 'teh gratest furry comic of ahl tahme'. Or even the greatest comic.

In terms of both dramatic tension and comedic value I can name 3 better ones. Dreamkeepers, Lackadaisy (for the unfamiliar a story about a prohibition era speak easy called fittingly the Lackadaisy and it's efforts to stay afloat) and Housepets.

But Twokinds is by no means a terrible work. There is genuine character and character development. And there's something that I don't think gets enough attention.

Twokinds shows Tom's growth not just as an artist but a writer. As the comic grows we can see a definite change in the way it is portrayed. Tom is acticely tryinf to work vetter storytelling techniques and narrative into the world he's created.

He's been trying to layer in backstory and give the consequence that might not have originally been there.

Laura for instance might not have been present much but her death and apparent 'resurrection' through the illusion spell gave Keith's arc actual consequence and importance. The takeaway wasn't so much in Laura as in what that did for Keith's character. He was forced to give up something he desperately wanted for something else.

At the very least it's not often you find a story that deals with anthropomorphic animals and humans on equal terms. There is either the animals or the people and rare the two cross paths.

But my MAIN POINT is Twokinds is by no means a perfect work. Kind of like SAO the character IS there, but unlike SAO the character is made use of in some way. I find myself coming back more for the characters themselves than the actual story.

TLDR: I don't think the big point of what makes Twokinds popular is drama. I think it's the way the characters grow and interact with each other. A sort of fantasy slice of life. And I think Tom is trying to become a better writer as much as a better artist.

It's a pleasure. One I don't feel guilty reading. Because it cheers me up from time to time.
