Doggy-Style Offering

...this is pretty bad, I know. First of all I'm having a real hard time drawing lately, I just can't think of anything and flip flop between ideas and change my mind a million times... I really have to force things pretty hard in order to get anything down. You guys'll just have to live with some cruddy arts for a while until I sort my brain out I think.

And the colouring is kinda meh too. While I do believe I've found the method I'm going to be working with thanks to those recent lizard lady pictures, I certainly haven't prefected it! It'll be a while before I'm comfortable with it so things'll be rough for some time.

However, there are definitely some things I do like about this picture, which is why it's getting posted. Firstly the background. For working with watercolours (well, acrylics, but I use them like watercolours) I don't do wet-on-wet effects nearly often enough, especially considering how much I love them. The background was my first time playing with any kind of wet/wet effect and I rather like the result! I expect we'll be seeing more of that kind of thing. Makes a nice change of pace from the solid backgrounds I often do.

Also her fur actually looks black this time, which was my main goal after the last attempt ended up being much too bright and brown looking.

So, two steps forward one step back, but it's still progress such as it is. Just bare with me and I'll eventually figure myself out. :P
