If Tamara waits for a male Kitsune, then perhaps earlier was some sort of ‘consort ceremony’ where she was bound to a male, and the male to her, for the next two years. So that the two might produce a litter of Fox shrine guardians, you see.
Though of Kitsune blood, Tamara has only her single tail. The male consort, being a pure-bred, would possess three.
