  • This being my first piece of pony art that I've seen Naylor do, I have to admit... It's pretty darn good. :3

    Yes. They were twins.

But would that be genetically probable? Two "donations" results in twins from two different donors? Wat?

Well first off mind you this is fictional so if she had a demon spawn it could still be legit, secondly it is possible if she had two fertile eggs and by some miracle the sperm from each donor got there separately.

Yeah this is rare but It can happen. I have a friend that had twins that had different genetic fathers.

  • Just realized to we could make an edit of "Breeding Bobbie" where Mrs. cake is the main char and this all would still work out.

  • Once more Mr. Naylor, you have done it again. You made something seemingly good dark and perverse. I am against the ponies, but come on, not everything in this planet has to revolve around cheating and adultery.

Wouldn't the first guy who came in Mrs Cake first be the father for both twins?

Sounds like someone failed Sex Ed.

It's more of a nod as to why even Mr Cake seemed dubious in the maternity ward in the episode. "...and that makes sense, right?"

But that's Naylor's MO, all of his characters cheat or sleep around so often that make actual sluts look like saints.

No; it takes some time for sperm to make the trip up to the egg, and especially if there are multiple males within a short time, they can get all mixed up. If you have two eggs waiting, it's not at all strange that you could wind up with two different fathers.

It does, however, pretty much require multiple partners in a very short time, so it doesn't happen much.

  • Not really. The canon version was pretty straight forward, repressed traits from different sides of the family can have an adverse affect on offspring.

makes more sense than the canon explanation.

theres actually something weird about the lore if you think about it. if you assume ponies can be a different race than the ones their parents are because of recessive traits and all. if you recall cloudsdale can only be inhabited by pegasi because they're the only ones that can walk on clouds (without the use of a very powerful spell) so does that mean that occasionally ponies are born in cloudsdale and just fall strait through the ground? the spell has a time limit too so unless they have incredibly powerful unicorns working around the clock doesn't that mean anyone who has a non pegasi child would have to relocate somewhere else?

The canon explanation was a joke for adults watching. The delivery of the line by Mr. Cake was intended to show he didn't really believe the explanation himself, having been told or researched it; and for those that look into it more deeply, it would be found that cousin mentioned was related only by marriage and not blood. Whether or not Mrs Cake slept around, the canon explanation isn't and can't be the answer.
