Equestria is a matryarchy so Shinning Armor is probably joing Cadence's family.
It's also posible that Celestia is using an old midieval practice of calling other royalty niece, nephew, cousin, ect. out of respect or traditional allince and not becuase of any blood relation, I mean do you really think a prick like Blueblood is really related to the Princess'
