Dayless day

Artist's Description:
"A long dark, the longest night, winter solstice. A day of celebration as it marks the day when the strength of Ukko returns and Umi wanes away day by day. This is the day when we can all see Umi and her children at the most glorious. The skies are ablaze with the glint of stars and the borealis paint streaks of colors more vivid than which can be found in ones imagination. The gigantic events taking place right above us, completely silent, only the gentle breeze orchestrates the celestial movements which move without a sound. Each time this time of the year, Umi sends some of her children down to Alluvia, these blazing stars fall from the skies and in ancient times, created the giant basins in the north.

While some would say Umi is the bringer of darkness, that isn't entirely right, as much like Ukko, she too is a bringer of light, however hers is far different than that of Ukko. Perhaps Umi was of the darkness before, but became sympathetic of those who needed light to walk on Alluvia. Today she truly does bring light into the darkness, a display showing her power, or a celebration of handing power back to Ukko, who can tell."
