April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.
For some further information on what the bill does have a look at https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2586/
We still have a Discord server, come talk to us!

Memberdon't even get me started on the hypocrisy of this place. especially on the gratuitous vagueness on what counts as a 'creepy' comment.
gay4toothless
MemberExactly. I'm getting flagged for "creepy" comments all the time. Simply for stating that I would like to be in place of the creature in the pic.
"Creepy" is relative.
I find human babies creepy and xenomorph creatures quite attractive.
Its relative.
Maybe we need people who aren't "snowflakes" in charge of reporting comments.
I've seen creepier things on here and it's never been the comments.
Freedom of speech and the entitlement to an opinion seems to be abolished on this site.

JanitorWait... we get paid? All I have been doing is wasting my free time, hours a day for this shit.
Also just as generic reminder, staff doesn't actually go around all day looking at comments, almost all of the cases are reports from other users which staff then takes a look at. So what that essentially means it that someone browsing here did feel bad enough to contact staff about it.
Problem here is that this is still public forum, not private showing hosted by artist, meaning that playing field needs and rules need to be equal for all. I know that many artists love to hear how horny you get from their works and how many users would love to express their current feelings on their personal matters, but the reality is that this website isn't owned by artist and that we are not pornsite. It would be weird to visit art gallery and seeing one visitor suddenly dropping their pants and start masturbating, someone would call the cops.
As another reminder, we do actually have many artists and character owners who have taken their work out from the site completely thanks to comments. As much as there are ones who want to hear it all, there are as many who do not like to hear it. And as always we now have 10 source fields per post and artist wikis, you are free to check if particular artist is fine with hearing your thoughts and interact with them more directly. Many artists even have discord servers these days you can join and have even more direct discussion.
Also I shouldn't even be dealing with this, I'm just janitor, but I just hate it when people suddenly stop looking at both sides of the issue whenever artist comes down and says something. Of course their opinion matters, but at the same time discuss about possible rule changes in forums with proper arguments, rather than shit on the sites rules on comments because they go againts individual artists wishes.

Memberyour art is amazing dude <3
RamCard
MemberHonestly your art style is gorgeous. From the texture work, to the lighting to the perspective. Its a very very pretty piece. It also helps that the subjects for the piece are undoubtedly adorable.

Memberyour art is great but the people who manage this site are... not so principled.
CamKitty
MemberDon't drag the artist into you being creepy. The rule exists specifically because people similar to you were creeping out users and more importantly artists. And the site would rather not have artists leave the site
DiddleDopper
Memberand here comes the virtue signaler...
