Salmon Pillows
“Let’s throw all the pillows on the floor and watch some Netflix together,” Alex suggested as she padded her way over to Tashi, who was sitting at his desk, typing away at the walls of code on his computer screens. The horse was keeping himself busy, working on tweaking the algorithm he created. He’d explained what he was doing to Alex countless times, but Alex still never understood it and referred to whatever he was doing as “hackerman business”.
“I can’t, I still have to get all these bugs worked out before tomorrow, we have to push out an update next week and I’ve only worked out three of the thirteen bugs that I’ve found.” Tashi said with a soft snort that was followed by a heavy sigh, “They seem to keep popping up everywhere,” he brought a hand to massage his temple. The horse was very tired from spending all day patching out critical bugs. Tashi was in his usual green t-shirt and nothing else from the waist down, his sheath and heavy balls sitting neatly between his legs in his computer chair with him. He had certainly gotten used to the “bottomless at home” lifestyle Alex brought with her when she moved in with him.
Alex wore nothing but her red turtleneck sweater to cover herself, she would have been completely naked coming to invite Tashi over for snuggles and Netflix, but the apartment was a little chilly that day, in a good way, neither of them were big fans of warm weather.
The tigress continued to close the distance between them as she approached his chair. Once she was close enough, she leaned against the back of it and slid her hands over his shoulders and her arms around him. She rested her chin on his shoulder and looked at the screens that were full of incomprehensible text and symbols. Tashi pulled his hand away from his temple and turned his head to the side to rub his broad snoot against Alex’s face.
“Pleaaaaaseee?” Alex pleaded and gave Tashi her best performance of puppy-dog eyes to date. She even curled her tail around one of his legs to sweeten the deal. She was certain he wouldn’t be able to say no to her like that!
Tashi let out a snort and his lips pursed into a smile. He glanced down at his leg and saw that familiar striped snake curled snugly around his ankle. Alex was right, he couldn’t resist it when she had his tail curled around his leg like that. He went quiet for a few seconds as he watched the tip of Alex’s tail flicker, he let out another sigh and brought his gaze back up to his screens full of code.
“Okay… There’s still a lot of time, and if I rush it all in one day, I might miss something…” He snorted and chuckled. He turned his head to the side to plant a soft smooch on Alex’s cheek before slowly pushing himself up from his chair.
“Yes, let’s go make that pillow pile,” Tashi said with a smile as he stood up on his hooves and stretched his arms over his head. Alex almost jumped, but she remembered that her tail was still curled around the Clydesdale’s ankle. Instead, she did a bunch of small hops up and down and clapped her hands together rapidly in celebration. “Yaaaaay!” The tigress then took the horse’s hand, uncurled her tail from his ankle, and led him out of his home office and towards the living room, where she had brought all the pillows from around the house that she could find and piled them in the middle of the floor on front of the couch and the TV. Once they were in the living room, Alex stopped right in front of the pillow pile and turned around to smile at Tashi. “Ta-da! I made it already, in case you said no I would just come to lie down by myself.” She gestured to the array of pillows that were arranged around the area, it looked incredibly cozy. The curtains were shut, so the room was just dim enough for it to be easy to fall asleep in, which is probably what Alex was planning on doing. The large TV that was mounted on the wall across from the couch was already on, with the Netflix app open and on the content selection page. “I would have put candles out, but I couldn’t reach the top cabinet.” Alex rubbed the back of her head and chuckled sheepishly.
“As if I would ever say no to snuggling with you and watching Netflix,” Tashi cooed, his eyes wandering over the different colored pillows. He spotted a few he hadn’t seen before; green, blue, yellow, green, and a striped salmon-pink pillow. A lot of the pillows around the apartment were white, so these colored ones in the middle really stood out to Tashi. “Where did you get all these pillows?”
