~TECHNICALLY~ Rift Apart Lombax (unofficial name) is trans, due to the fact that female lombaxes are well-established as not having tails. Or is a particularly feminine male.

It's believed that with the reboot of the series they're changing the whole "Females have no tail" thing to just kinda not be confusing since even with Angela it wasn't even agreed upon.

Whether she (this new character) is trans isn't confirmed, though we do know it's a she and not, like some were thinking, a rather young male.

Besides, there already evidence they changed the rule from "no tails" to "bushy as heck tails"... Ratchet and Azimuth both had thin tails with tufts of fur at the tip... the new girl here has a full bushy tail. So I mean there's that too

not only that but when you start combining dimensions. rules that were established before kinda begin to fall appart. plus everyone is kinda ignoring that she has hair and males dont have hair lol

i think theyre doing away with those rules and this game is a perfect time to do it

Actually, the game seems to take place after Nexus in the main timeline, and the "no-tail female" thing seems to have just been full-on retconned.

Yeah uh, she's probably trans, the people who designed her have been retweeting stuff about her being trans the person who did /is/

And yeah they knew the porn would come

    And it compelled them

    Legends.

He or she is from a children's game. There will be no mentions of sexuality. We don't even know if they're male or female yet, and you're trying to claim they're "trans". This is why you get backlash.

I believe they said this takes place after the reboot, not after Into the Nexus (though it for sure looks like they're right after Into the Nexus, what with all the dimensional rift instability)... which I find to be suck-y considering I wasn't too big a fan of the reboot story arch :/

Another thing, they might have changed the "no tails" to "bushy tails"... Ratchet has a thin tail with a tuft of fur at the tip... so did Azimuth. So I mean there's that xD

"children's game". have you played the ratchet and clank games? they throw suggestive comments and innuendos out everywhere. Heck for the longest time the subtitle of every game was a innuendo.

Yeah of course. They were rated "teen" if I remember correctly. They've been going in a very kid-friendly direction lately though.

Yeah and I mean, Angela was both a galactic mercenary/freedom fighter, and very clumsy. It's not a stretch to assume she somehow lost her tail at some point. :P

Have you watched old cartoons? Designers and cartoonists love seeing just how much shit they can get away with, especially in anything rated for teens.

According to Insomniac Games, the series (and especially the PS2 games) is marketed towards teenagers and young adults, not kids.

I don't think anyone said that. Plus, there's a bunch of small details that indicate that it's the main timeline, with the lack of telequiping and ratchet's muzzle being the same shade of yellow as the rest of his fur being the most notable visual hints, and Clank complaining about Nefarious resurfacing to take over the universe *again* being a rather distinct dialogue cue (in the film and tie-in game, Nefarious's plan was to destroy a whole solar system.

Edit: It has been confirmed to be post-nexus.
