I'm not sure if you can die, or at least i've never hear of any case like that. What I know for self experience is if you keep on sleep deprivation for like five or six days you'll just pass out eventually. Your head will just shut down.

No, it can definitely kill you. It's been shown he sleeps, he just doesn't get to sleep for long a time cuz of possession nightmares. No telling how long he stays awake at a time though.

But to elaborate: It's not the sleep deprivation itself that kills you, but rather the effects it causes on your body. Certain organs start saying "fuck it" and stop working effectively, or at all. Brain function starts deteriorating. Your body literally tries to force sleep for a reason.

Rates may vary based on the amount of squeezing your head muscles are doing to your brain. the level of squishing that goes on while sleeping is greater since the lack of blood flow is reduced. gives room for your cerebral fluids to clean things out. Half hour naps, certain drugs, and occasionally stress all help with this one specific process.

Is it common procedure to offer a cigarette and a light before engaging in conversation with the deceased? They're dead already, soo something that will kill them as an eventuality shouldn't matter all that much. It might be fringe case if the individual died from smoking, but eh.
