I imagine it's just a joke about how an anthro Pterosaur looks rather similar to Ridley, and that the closest thing to a wife Ridley would have is Samus. Who else succeeds at putting up with his shit (not counting the freakout in Other M)?

We got something like this hybrid girl in a real metroid game? I'm not talking little AU teen angst in this comic, I'm talking like the pirates stole & spliced Samus' DNA with Rildey's and created a hybrid harpy/demon bat winged girl as the ultimate mockery middle finger to Samus as a powerful boss fight!
