big macintosh and zecora (friendship is magic and etc) created by jay naylor
Description

One Pony 7

Zecora explains her independence to Big Macintosh, in rhyme of course. I had to abridge my original poem due to page constraints and to prevent covering up too much background.

  • Yep, Zecora is completely and totally independent of pony society. It's a good thing she never has to go into town for necessary supplies or anything, or else her monologue might be just the slightest bit hypocritical.
But you shouldn't think too hard about that, Big Mac. Now get back to performing manual labor for the woman who is in no way dependent on others and who asked you out here for the sole purpose of fixing something for her.

  • Damn it Jay, anytime you want to open your mouth cause you think you're deeply philosophical and just HAVE to share just don't. please.

stupid contrived tripe. what do you want us to take away from this? Big Mac's deeply searching for meaning and Zecora's just waiting for someone to ask the right question so she can become a preacher and prove how deep she is and how impressive her self reliance is and we should all be more humanist (irony lol) like she is?

you watch cartoons and look at porn as an escape from reality, please don't bring it here

  • Whenever I see Jay Naylor art my brain automatically cuts out the dialogue bubbles. Makes it more enjoyable that way.

What she means is that even if the ponies didn't exist rain would still fall and the sun would always rise. It has nothing to do with her not needing society.

  • I love how Big Mac's reaction is something along the lines of "Whatever Zecora, we're about to clear-cut this forest to plant more apple trees, because that's all we eat." I imagine the sugar and flour is somehow apple-derived.

In other words, Sweet Apple Acres is Equestria's Monsanto.

If that is the point, then Jay could not have put it in a more self-righteous and hypocritical way. Also, the phrase, 'I require no pony to work for me,' is pretty unambiguous.

I finally read the first page. Despite my sarcastic assessment of Big Mac's presence, apparently he is rebuilding Zecora's house. As in, he is working for her. Strange for Zecora's Gulch to need a mere workpony to do something.

  • Jay, it is nice to see an artist with an objective point of view, I write so I can't talk but you go from furry porn to deep pony ramblings like a madman
    I salute you
And zecora is right... nature needs no manipulation
And I am agnostic so you can't sell religion or nonreligious ideas to me
Though I do dabble in wicca and others
    And omegle

  • No one is ever truly independent it's natures way that we all need help from others every now and then nature even shows this when some animals of different species will sometimes adopt the abandoned cub of another, then if you wanna be more exact scientifically rain is generated from the heat of both the sun and the earths core slowly heating the waters around reliance is part of nature as much as a robot would rely on a technician to keep it running properly
