to address some of your points it might not actually be changing the parts to be other species but merely cosmetic so it would not actually be turning to a gezel or fox or whatever but just making one look it as for the laws of the conservation of matter and energy.it could be nanobots in people with transporter like teck so it links to a mas sor of matter and the nanits could telpiort what is not needed away and telport what is needed to and they could change to make things difrint

What if the app required you to consume a certain amount of daily calories in order to gain the mass necessary to grow new parts? The app wouldn't create anything, it would just distribute fat and tissue.
