They were more concerned about the noise caused by having people constantly coming (heh) and going. A couple dozen laundry machines are likely to produce at least as much noise as the fucking.

if you look at the last panel, you'll see the reflection of a trashcan on the shiny floor, meaning there's no wall there.

Dude, I was about to crack a joke about the little visual gag of the 6 and the 9 ruining the comic because it screws up the numbering order of the washing machines. Then I checked the previous page and noticed you actually didn't screw up at all and in fact you made all the machines fit perfectly in a grid of machines of several sizes. I think its not a wall but that area is what it’d be like if you removed one of the washing machines, so basically its a hidden area out of veiw but still somewhat visible
