judy hopps and nick wilde (zootopia and etc) created by borba

  • "Say, what 'bout becoming a junior ranger scout, son?"

Yeah, that way he can tell the kid all about how his own mother had an abortion because she said it'd hinder her career, then adopted him, most likely because she thought it would make her look like she's preforming a charity service.

Didn't bother seeing the hypercritical irony of killing your own child just to adopt two, did ya, BorbaJudy?

[For the record, I'm not targeting the kids, just BorbaJudy. God, I hate this character]

  • When Shay said "Stu and Bonnie send you many hugs." I'd say it's safe to assume that BorbaJudy told them a big can of lies. Nothing about being with Nick or her former pregnancy. Just that she is into females and she really likes Shay. That way, she got them to support her being with and marry Shay.

    That is just plain despicable.
But then again, it's Borba so that's no surprise.

  • This is too ironic.

BorbaJudy never told Stu and Bonnie about BorbaNick, but told them about Shay?

I’m gonna say that she did that for their money to support her career.

BorbaJudy, the worst OC in Zootopia fandom.

The whole comic's going to be just this, isn't it? Nick being introduced one-by-one to Judy's entourage.

Six pages from now we’ll get introduced to that...wolf?... that only has one expression! I’m so excited!

    ...my sarcasm runneth over.

Hold on, hold on. I just remembered something.

Judy's parents are 'carrotholic' right? Anti-abortion anti-sex-before-marriage religious folks yes? Pretty sure that was the implication being given last comic.

And now... they're ok with her lesbian lifestyle? They're gonna welcome that woman into their house and be huggy? How does that work? Did I miss something?

Fuck if I know, perhaps they're more alright with her being in a gay relationship than her getting abortions, perhaps Shay's lying about things for some reason, or it's a Borba comic and you shouldn't expect consistency from him. Still it does bring into question that if Carrothlism is a thing, I wonder if Mewdaism and other punny takes on religion are a thing here.

    Yeah. You missed “Because Borba”.

His writing is that trash where he does that. He has no consistency.

I’m not sure what Borba is going for here. They’ve both moved on and all is forgiven? What’s the point? He’s putting a lot of time and effort into what seems to be an unnecessary comic.

  • "Stu and Bonnie send you many hugs."

So...Judy's family still talks about/with Nick even though they've been broken up for years and Judy hasn't spoken to him in years? That feels a bit weird...

"So Judy, hows your Ex doing these days? He was such a sweetheart, you know, until the sudden and painful end of the relationship. Should we send him a Christmas card?"

He's treading water. He doesn't have an overall direction to the story or a story arc planned out, that much is clear from the previous chapters. He just kind of does random snippets that loosely tie together like someone wanting to fill in the empty silence in a conversation. There's no point to it because it doesn't have a destination of where it leads in mind. Only thing I can imagine is he wants to shoehorn in a convoluted "And they all lived happily ever after" where everything that happened in the previous chapters didn't really do anything or last.

Either that or he got in to deep and is trying to play it down. Might explain Shay being yellow over white given the whole 'Skye' debacle

Not in some of the concept art. Skye does have kinda yellow fur in some of them. Probably from the season change.

  • Okay I've got the plot figured out. Rafiki joints Jr Rangers, dates Moose girl. He ends up getting her pregnant and BorbaJudy obviously wants the girl to follow her route of choice, but Rafiki wants to keep it. And the cycle begins again. The end.

And I dunno... maybe BorbaNick's wife is a nurse at Planned Parenthood or something.

Didnt think id see Rob viewing these comics again. Fully agree with hoping Borba gets better but I think he should at least draw something other than zootopia for the time being. Or if he does continue, team with a writer who understands the material. Right now this comic is just a mess of either trying to apologize for his previous efforts or to just troll. There is no story here and that Wolfenstein page is feeling more and more out of place

He blocked me on dA for stating the facts that he was disrespecting how the characters were originally written, even pointing out how Judy quit the ZPD cuz she drove mammals apart more than help bring them together and the other basic fact that she hurt Nick. So on that point, I was already calling out his bullshit on how he started writing her in IWS. Another thing I pointed out to him was Judy wouldn't just jump on a decision like the abortion of a hybrid she would be having with Nick without doing research on whether or not the kit(s) would cause health problems. Sorry for the rant, just figured I'd put my 2¢ out there

  • I'll be honest, this comic (not the series) really isn't that bad.

Like I really feel that everyone who hates on this comic is just recycling their distaste for the first one. Which was bad, and was fun to hate on cause it was so bad but like.

Borba has at the least got something of a vision for the story, it's not just another 'Will they, won't they' romance comic, just 'Sex-featuring but not limited to Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde' or whatever in the fuck Doxy was on about. Like Borba with the second comic obviously had a vision that he carried out on, and he's done that.

All this bullshit hate is so flimsy and unnecessary, like so many other artists have totally tanked and OOC'd them but no one cared about that. And that was usually in the pursuit of porn, this isn't that different in my opinion.

I honestly like Shay, at least it's not just Sly again. At least Borba made something interesting.

Only real knock against him is that he's got poor ideas about sex workers. Which is disappointing but not surprising.

The problem is that its difficult to see any vision given that we're over twenty pages into this comic and nothing has really happened. Nick has been reunited with Judy and they have met each other's children. This could have been done in ten pages max.

From what I heard Borba already made comics about them together, being married and all the "predictable" outcomes people want to see with Judy and Nick, as how they should behave and act.

To me, these comics are just something he wants to make things differently, independently if it's out of the characters or even absurd, like not all are just black and white. People can change or even act differently from what you expect them to, to show you that "did you really know the person?", etc.

It's kinda realistic, if you think about it.

Same here, and all I did was criticize BorbaJudy's personality. I commented more on what I said earlier on a different page, but it end with him blocking me and turning off the comments on one of his works before anyone could read what I wrote. I didn't even swear or call him out directly.

I don't hate Borba. Never have. I just find this whole series disappointingly frustrating.

There is so much potential for genuinely moving and interesting storytelling. But it's wasted on what devolved from expressing frustrations with a fanbase to a back and forth spite fest that is slowly but surely burning out.

He does have talent. And a damn good amount of it. Too see so much of it wasted in anger and disdain honestly hurts me.

It physically hurts me so bad like it hurt Markiplier when he was playing RubberRoss's Mario Maker levels and he kept dying. Ntm it hurts me mentally cuz I know Disney has canonized their relationship by making a pin or keychan of Judy cuddling a carrot pillow while dreaming of Nick and the dream cloud is in the shape of a heart then there's a game that Disney approved to be made where in one scene they're in the Rainforest District on what seems to be a date and Nick is holding a box with a ring in it within a bouquet of some sort and he's being sneaky about it. Seriously, too much evidence there not to at least make a mention in the 2022 series coming up

I think you might be missing the bulk of criticism aimed toward Borba and his work. It's not so much his story people criticize (even though it is absolute crap), but more the fact of how badly he butchered the characters and amazing inability to see how hypocritical he made them throughout this entire cheesy soap opera.

Oh, and his childish personality only adds to the fire and make people hate his work even more. Even cuck artists like Amadose, despite making comics that are HUGELY against Wildehopps fans, is incredibly polite to those that disagree with his comics.

It's less this specific one and more the 'story as a whole' combined with 'subtle' allusions that all those that hate his work are nazis

Perhaps a gross oversimplification. Could even be wrong.

I don't hate it I just quite frankly find it stale. The characters are fairly one dimensional, and the only notable interesting interaction was Nick apologizing for hurting someone that had no impact on the situation at the time.

Then there's Judy being 'accurate to the movie' which is something I find hilariously incorrect

I feel like a lot of people cant find ways to heal from and move on from past break ups, its kinda refreshing to see 2 people that had a bad break-up not still be at each others throat takings shots at each other a decade later.

14 pages to go...if they keep focused on THIS and not the extreme political what ever the hell was the the nazi group from earlier I'll accept this was a flawed story that ended with a nice message about dealing with irreconcilable ideological differences and moving on.
