April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.
For some further information on what the bill does have a look at https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2586/
We still have a Discord server, come talk to us!

MemberI'm probably going to get a lot of love for this, but I'm glad the whole fucking her own brother thing is canon

MemberI can’t speak for everyone but in a reallllly short nutshell the whole taboo nature and implications around it are nice.
You’re allowed to not like it but frankly you sound kinda whiny about it here when you can just update your blacklist lol

MemberThe appeal of an incestuous relationship begins with familial love, where you know for a fact that they've always cared for each other over the course of their entire lives. With so much built up history between them, that they've given in to something like this implies that they share a very special, intimate kind of bond. Their love's so strong that not even the taboo can keep them apart, it makes it seem like such a sincere relationship. When you can tell they care so deeply about each other, it elevates what they're doing beyond just fucking, it's lovemaking! <3
That cheesy line aside, incest is a natural thing to feel grossed out by. We have that instinctual revulsion to it for a reason afterall! There's nothing wrong with how you feel, most people would agree with you on it. Hopefully this helps you understand, I'm sure the confusion's very frustrating for you!

MemberI can only speak for myself, but the big draw for me is that it's basically an extension of the trope about childhood friendships that develop into romantic relationships once they grow up. The only way to get even closer is to actually live together.
And to put it bluntly, I never really understood why that's a bad thing; they're obviously consenting adults here. It passes the Harkness test, and that's good enough for me.

MemberIt's so rare when a person who openly dislikes a fetish tries to learn how to tolerate it instead of getting stubborn and hateful when anyone talks to them. A lot of people would just say, "yeah whatever you're gross and anyone who likes this is stupid". It's really cool of you to ask questions and try to understand others, even if you can't relate to them. It shows a willingness to resolve whatever's bothering you instead of letting yourself stay annoyed, that's badass! Thank you so much for staying open minded! ^u^

Took me a bit of time to get the origin of appeal in incest (thank you for providing a good explanation though), but it's not a big problem to start liking it once you understood what other people enjoy about it. Or at least to get down with it and don't spill out so much hate. Just like with all the other fetishes.
