lunastra is an elder dragon, tbh the thing about monster hunter is that there's a lot of unconventional + unique dragon designs outside of the standard dragon mold so its pretty par for the course for monsters like teostra + lunastra to be considered dragons

The Teostra Tag does not apply. Lunastra is the monster in the animation, not teostra.

Rathalos and Rathian are separate species, whereas Lunastra and Teostra are the same species (because sexual dimorphism)

Nope, Rathalos and Rathian is also an instance of sexual dimorphism. The Rathalos is the male of the species and the Rathian is the female. So really the tags should be separated.

Yeah, I get it. I feel like I remember seeing the "not all elder dragons are technically DRAGONS" thing somewhere but it's been a long ass time and honestly I'm probably wrong anyway. Nobody's perfect.
