News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

I'm saying this because actual pansexuals are upset with the original flag and are ready to use the new one.
Also off topic but the hell is so problematic about being a hippie? They're just high so what's the problem?

you know the whole thing about some not having the voice for the masses? If this whole thing about some flag is such a big deal that pansexuals want it changed there is this whole thing called a vote that I'm sure if enough people complained about it the LGBT community would hold polls for a new flag. Personally, I don't care what flag is used for anything as flags are just symbols and colors. But e621 isn't the place to push your agenda about what colors are okay for a flag because you don't like someone.

especially when the beef is about the person who created it and not the actual flag.

Let me phrase it another way: a well-established and well-used symbol "divorces itself" from its creator. It becomes synonymous with the wider community it is meant to represent, and becomes the "property of the whole".

Examples of what symbols are OK and not OK and why:
    - The red flag will never be abandoned by labor movements. It is primarily associated with organized labor, and this fact remains despite the fact that totalitarian regimes used it and its variations over the decades.

    - The black-white-red flag of Germany is frowned upon and not used as the official flag, because although it was the official flag of Germany it was the official flag during the Imperial German era and it evolved into a prominent, adopted symbol of anti-republican and anti-democratic sentiment. Rising sun flag of Japan is a similar story.

The acts of a single person, even if it is the designer of the symbol, has no implications whatsoever of the symbol. The actions of the large masses that use it do.

  • The main problem? Most people hadn't heard of the flag, and the moment they (may) do they are presented the problem of a devide, the pathways available from there: it is theoretical and best to have a no care attitude. - •weigh in and increase the devide. - •see either of the flags and maintain a "I know what you mean attitude" - but seriously this is why you should have your s?it sorted before going live, but [exasperated sigh] ~whatever.
    -•ignore everything.

    sad, but true.

The worst part about it is that it's so cringy that it affects everything. And it doesn't even have to be the same subject matter, it's just basically by default tainted it proxy destroys any merit it could have.

Look what it is doing to this thread, and you can say the kid in the picture is right. Even if my point isn't about the mom, his statement about it being "so embarrassing" can be applied to cancel culture as a whole, almost on a Species wide level in fact. It makes me wonder how we survived this long, then I think about it and it makes me realize there is a God, because only the infinite Patience and infinite forgiveness of such a being could be the only reason we even got this far.

Anything less and hit would of hit the reset button.

  • There comes a time when all we can wear is black and white and some of the people here will be to blame. All because they go apeshit over colours representing sexual orientation when it should've never been done like that in the first place. As a pansexual I've always despised the flags that other, drama-fueled people chose "for me". I don't associate myself with them or their flags. Let me wear rainbow socks without people thinking I'm filled with "gay pride". I just like rainbows.

Let people wear whatever they want. Stop associating sex with something so base as COLOUR and be content with your own feelings and stop harassing others about theirs. Would be great.

I just realised it feels like gangwars lol. Can't wear Red in certain neighbourhoods, can't wear Blue. All because some hyper-aggressive groups do/don't want you to do it.
    Fuckin lol.

  • There's a lot of toxic BS in the comments of what most would call a very wholesome picture. So allow me to lighten the mood here. *Ahem*

    *Seinfeld music plays*

    INT. MONK'S CAFE. MORNING.

GEORGE: Why do they call it Pride Month?

JERRY: I think it's because they're proud of who they are.

GEORGE: But doesn't the pride come before the fall? Jerry?

Jerry is distracted, looking out the window. He likes what he sees.

GEORGE: Jerry? Jerry, I will not be ignored!

JERRY: Shut up. And just look at that.

    GEORGE: What? Wha...woah

    JERRY: Yep. Look at that.

Jerry and George both drool at the sight of a cutie 11/10 Shibe doggo with hips as wide as a cargo ship and breasts as big as boulders.

JERRY: Hootchie Mama. Have you ever seen such beauty?

    GEORGE: No...no I haven't...

JERRY: Hey what does that say on her shirt?

    GEORGE: Free...Mom..Hugs?

JERRY: She's giving away free hugs!

GEORGE: Well what are we waitin' for?

JERRY: Oh look at that, she's waving Pride flags...

    GEORGE: So?

JERRY: So, the hugs are probably exclusive to gay people.

GEORGE: So that's it!? You're giving up that easily?! Jerry Seinfeld, I'm ashamed of you!

JERRY: What? What I do? Wait don't tell me...

    GEORGE: I'm gonna do it.

JERRY: No... don't do it man...

    GEORGE: I'm takin' the initiative!

    JERRY: Oy vey...

George gets up from his table.

GEORGE: Hey, if you don't wanna pretend to be gay just so you can have a beautiful milf shove your head into her massive kahuna's, that's fine by me. But I'm doin' it! All my life I've never taken the initiative and I've regretted it. NOT ANYMORE! INDEPENDENT GEORGE IS BACK BABY!!!

    George walks out the café

    Kramer walks in.

    KRAMER: Hey George--

    GEORGE: Not now Kramer.

Kramer looks to Jerry and sits on the table.

KRAMER: Yo. What's up with George?

JERRY: Oh, he's just gonna pretend he's gay just so he can get a free hug from that woman across the street.

KRAMER: You mean June? You don't have to be gay to get free hugs from her.

JERRY: You don't? And wait how do you know her name?

KRAMER: Well we've been dating. *Clicks tongue and winks*

JERRY: Oh my God...George is going over there right now!

Jerry quickly gets up and bolts for the door.

    KRAMER: You gonna warn George?

JERRY: To Hell with George! I'm getting a FREE HUG!

    *Roll Credits*

it really shouldn't matter if the orginiator of the flag is problematic, its been widely accepted as the Pansexual Flag for over a decade, its like changing the rainbow flag because it was made by a hippie.

When we devolve our understanding of ourselves based on if a person who created something was problematic or not, we completely lay bare that what we define ourselves as is arbitrary and has absolutely no meaning at all. Fuck your flags. Just do what you want in the bedroom, enjoy life with the people around you and live a life. You are not different because you feel different, you are just another person, nothing special. The sooner people realize this, the sooner society can come a litter bit closer to normality again.

I imagine for the same reason that part of the zipper is floating at the bottom of Skylar's hoodie, it's just a fun artistic choice.

  • So, I, as I assume most of the commenters here did, dove into the comment section before checking the twitter link. Oh boy. Want a problematic prosyltizer? The original tweet (as tweets tend to be) was petty, alarmist, and mostly void lf context. The non-controversy in question regards the designer of the Pan flag supporting... "bisexual lesbians"! I can understand wanting to use words accurately and getting annoyed over unusual logic, but semantic disputes seems like a poor reason to throw out a perfectly servicable flag and replace it with a rotting corpse over tomato sauce something else. (the whole corpse thing was my initial reaction to seeing the proposed replacement flag, however I realized after reviewing the image that the colors in my head were nowhere near as awful as I had stuck in my head; though I no longer have an appropriate metaphor for the usurper flag, nor do I particularly enjoy the of the pan flag, I prefer the majority one by far over this little stunt.)

This pansexual flag is outdated because the original creator was problematic. Here's the new one so you're aware next time.

*sigh* And now having made yet another unnecessary-contribution-to-a-dead-conversation, I'll creep back to my corner of obscurity far from any thing happening presently. I just can''t keep up with everything interesting going on around here.
