Great game in every way except game play.

Why? In comparison with many other games I feel like its one of its strongest features, few games have that freedom of movement.(maybe Titanfall?)

something i feel a bit too from warframe, i'm sure many many people enjoy it (or don't mind it) enough to keep playing but a lot of people also dislike it due to how it's just a. . . powertrip game? the best way i can put it is the game can't really offer much a challenge due to its design, without adding something that feels like it's cheesing the player. they've made good progress in the last year or two to move away from that, but it's been present for a long time.

but besides that, warframes are hot, that's all i care about

That's fair. Back in the old days WF was more aimed at stealth and slowly advancing maps, now it became a skill spamming, horde purging speedrun. It's DE fault for not controlling well how much 'power' they give to the players, I believe its too late to change that without anyone whinning due to all resources and time the players spent getting meta builds and the like.

As a warframe veteran, I can list some major problems:

    1) No variety in-tile, it wouldve been easy to make decoration hotspots in which different decorations are swapped around (that's how Diablo-likes do it), instead each instance of similar room tile is exactly same all the time.
It really heavily gimps visual and structural variety of the levels.

    2) Bits, pieces, hold-overs of the old mechanics hanging around and plaguing the game (like wallrunning skidmarks in Grineer tilesets from times where we had stamina and actual wallrun), and nobody on the dev team admits that the game is long overdue for a major cleanup of all of its facets.

    3) There are many, many ways to completely trivialise any challenge using warframe abilities, so the only way of DE knows how to make game difficult is removing warframe abilities out of play (bosses and events for past 2.5 years), at which point differences in warframes are erased and you might as well just use Inaros who is immortal without his abilities and thus kills all challenge regardless.

    4) One of the game designers on Prime Time openly admitted that in his opinion making a thing take longer adds difficulty (in reality it does not), which explains quite a lot about many design decisions that make the game more and more tedious. In that context it becomes clear why immortality phases and almost-idle waiting times during boss fights (Vay Hek, Tyl Regor, new Ambulas, new Jackal fight etc.) become the norm for the game.

IMO the game is not heading in a good direction.

one of the biggest things about 'old mechanics that are obsolete or trivialized by warframe abilities' is stealth, imo

a while ago they changed how easily enemies can see ^upwards^ so now it's almost impossible to use the ceiling or, like in the case of the Mastery Rank 19 test, where there's pillars tall enough to be stood on where they can't see you -- they now can. stealth is nigh impossible to do without having an invis ability and that feels cheap to me

Grind, probably be my number two game if it wasn't for the grind.
Sucks the life out of the game for me.
Definitely top 10 contender for sure, but the grind is a no-go.
