alot of people didnt seem to catch the part that twilight and rarity told about in the episode where the pumpkin cake and pound cake were born.. baby unicorns can have random outbursts of magic.. and about twilight for not teleporting or just using magic.. it requeres for her to be able to focus enough to pull it off.. and it might be hard to focus with a giant hydra chasing you :P

Well, in the Ticket Master, she sort of did it out of instinct, she didn't even know what would happen

Remember how she got so angry in Feeling Pinkie Keen, that her mane and tail caught fire? She did resemble a pokemon. Oh, and it's Rapidash she looks like. Ponytas don't have a horn.

I dunno, "giant monster chasing me, gotta get outta here quick" sounds like a simple thing to focus about.

I'm guessing it takes a certain amount of concentration to do the teleport spell, and I don't think she knows the self levitation thing...

I think twilight looks really hot.
