Hi, having only watched Animaniacs when I was young and having basically 0% context to Goof Troop, I must inquire as to why the Yakko/Max ship exists? I have looked this up and cannot parse how and why this pairing is more than a coincidence, thank you for anyone who can answer and also downvotes because that appears to be the golden standard of any comments that ask why this is a thing.

It's funny seeing Animaniacs characters paired up with Disney characters they've made fun of on their show.

I did some digging for you. It seems to be a ship started out on Tumblr, Twitter and some discord servers in Dec 2020 at the latest, probably spurred on with the Animaniacs reboot thing as well. I feel sorry that the best answer I can give is basically Tumblr dug in a copper mine and found some gypsum. Not exactly gold or platinum, but it's resulted in some nice artwork so I'll just shrug and let it be.

they have similar color design and similar body types thin and lanky. And both are teen males who have just past pubescent age and are now ready for their first girlfriend or boyfriend. theyre a good pairing personality whise as far as gay infatuation goes. Really their cinematic universes dont need to be an issue, if anything the Animaniacs constantly shift their thematic universe when it suits them anyways.

You ask how does this pairing exist given how the two cartoons have no relation to each other?

PS i also like the naughty little detail that yakko is wearing his brothers turtleneck while he and Max get busy. :P
