I had a friend like this, she would tell me the stories of men wanting to take advantage of her, she said she never accepted their offers.

Some of my best friends I've met when they were homeless. It's a shame they can't trust, but I totally understand the abuse that leads them to not trusting strangers!

She stopped messaging me back one day, I wonder whatever happened to her.

To be honest,living in China,we seldom see the homeless,but so frequently do we read such passages related to them in the exams,I'm sincerely sorry about their poor living condition.

This is basically my life right now. Wish I could say I didn't let anyone take advantage of me.

Tried sleeping under a bridge once. Every car that passes was way too loud. It's easier just to sneak in bathroom stalls and pass out for a while. Warmer too. A few times I'd find a bush to hide in. Gotta tuck it well otherwise people call the cops thinking you're a body.

I wasn't, and I was homeless from late December 2021 up until September 2022. Wasn't the first time, might not be the last, but at least I have a home.

I wrote a huge rant about how I got lucky, and how there are people worse off than me and it frustrates me that there isn't help for them. But my therapy cat decided to run across my desk, slammed into my hand on the mouse, and forced it to click the upper right corner and close the webpage... I fucking hate this cat, lol.

I'm doing better now though. Go help out the next person you see on the street, drop em some cash, food, or maybe even ask if they need any camping supplies. It goes a long way.

I hope you life is on a upward turn, as someone who is on disability and thankfully live in a country that is… well, socialist european and relatively good place to live, i still see homeless people… my girlfriend told me not to give money to the homeless when i was visiting her in germany, saying that it was their own fault. I audibly disagreed with her on that, but being swarmed by a homeless guy did make me uncomfortable. Also felt strange that he spoke more fluent english than her parents did. How did a guy that fluent end up on the street? Not to mention theres people out there who fake being homeless. I haven’t given money to the homeless since i was a kid and im… wary of who i give it to as i dont want to give it to someone who will buy drugs for them, but i do wanna help out. If i was rich i would buy centers with the express purpose of rehabilitating the homeless into society, helping them get a job, helping them get off drugs, helping them get an education. Helping them requesting disability from the government if they are disabled.

Unfortunately i myself am disable and not really able to work as of currently. And im kinda bad with money. And i have a ton of excuses like any other person… idk, maybe i should become a cult leader and specifically target the homeless to get them a place to stay. Idk. When i love 0ut from the institution im living at, during winter i would definately let a homeless sleep on my couch though. Its horrific that some people freeze to death. I think that is the bare minimum on those freezing nights.
