Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.

The dog days of summer were only just beginning, with the air conditioning cranked on full blast the electric bill would be chewing at the finances of every store in the city. The summer meant vacations, going out on adventures, and generally spending time recuperating before the start of the next year’s drudgery soon to come. For Kuro and Malcolm though, two fresh high school graduates it meant they could finally find a job that would separate them from the greasy frytraps of fast food. They were finally eighteen and thus eligible to work at the card shop that they spent so much of their meager fast food paychecks on. It was something the boys had been talking about since winter, a plan to be put in action at the last day of school and before they’d set off to colleges in the fall. With their applications in hand filled with previous work experience at such notable institutions like, McDonalds, Wendy’s, and even Sonic, they headed into the store proudly with their heads held high and in a straight path to Sherri who was busy painting her nails while browsing social media on the store’s computer. “Sherri!” Malcolm spoke up much to Sherri’s ire as the nail polish brush slid to the side as the started doggirl looked up to see the two boys grinning in front of her with sheets of paper on the counter. A quick glance and she saw the regular standard job applications she had available to print out and saw that they were both a little more dressed up than usual. “We are here to inquire about employment opportunities.”
