gay-to-straight just implies that it's a gay person doing straight things, same with straight-to-gay. I don't think it's meant to be a literal change in orientation.

people often use tags that are at least somewhat close to whats going on even if its not 100% correct, such as using an intersex tag for a flat chested woman or using the "gay-to-straight", "straight-to-gay", or "orientation-play" tags for "bisexual" content. I wish there was some kind of "Sexual-experimentation" tag but anything with "experiment" in the name leads you towards a species tag.
