Because this story began with Knuckles giving in to evil. And it quickly became clear that he wasn't being portrayed as any sort of cool villain, but just a sad delusional brute.

And so we, the readers, are being denied much of the "power" aspect of our usual rape porn. I am not saying that's how all such materials should be, as we (hopefully) don't follow such impulses IRL anyway. But I do think this comic is a refreshing take on the subject.
