A Good Stuffing

...what girl doesn't love one of those now and then? Well, this one certainly does!

More test stuff. As with all of these, this was drawn directly on to the watercolour paper which means I couldn't make many adjustments. Just wanted something to test colouring on.

Wanted to give that soft, lavender-ish purple another shot, because it didn't go so well in my last attempt. It's... better, but I can see that purple is going to give me some trouble. It always has though, so that's nothing new. I just don't have enough primary colours to make a good range of purples at the moment. I'll have to pick some more up soon.

The shading is also a bit messy in this one, I'll have to find a better way of dealing with large continuous areas. I try to do them all at once to avoid icky connections that tend to happen with paint, but that leads to dry lines and other unpleasant issues. More to work on...

Finally, the background and character colours aren't as similar as my scanner would have you believe. Don't buy in to it's lies!
