This might be a wee bit of an unpopular take. I’m all for making coin in this endeavour; but exclusive to one platform strikes me as being a bit of a tool. Have an interest in the story but can’t afford? Guess you’re out of luck, can’t even wait for a public release. Have issues with the platform of choice? Guess you’re gonna have to suck it up and work with folk you disagree with.

Just don’t believe it’s proper to release only on one platform. All for coin whilst we need it though; don’t get me wrong. Just think it’s a focused on what’s most profitable to the exclusion of media for media’s sake. To the exclusion of those is pay brackets where an extra bit of expense on top is requiring a wee bit of juggling. Which unfortunately seems common now.

Admittedly, I am of the mind that everyone should have access to any form of media, or basic necessities without coin. Or really just that coin should be gotten rid of, far too much greed and far too much suffering.

I am going to take a nap now. Daily rant done.

Are you aware you can make money without paywalls? It seems like a lot of artists don't realize that. Art is meant to be shared not hoarded to the select few that can somehow afford to spend hundreds of dollars on overly expensive artists.

Art is time consuming, this is why it becomes a full time career for some. If an artist works a regular job instead of making money from art then they'll have even less time to make the art and possibly make less money too. Also your profile indicates that you like playstation, do you believe PS4/PS5 games should be free as well? Do you think the artists, composers, programmers and etc are being greedy too?

Let's see $60 once for full access to a game vs $5 for limited access to a small portion of a gallery every month. hmm I think I'd rather the $60 once. The difference here is I'm not forced to pay a subscription every single month just to buy a game. A video game can take years to develop whereas an image less than a month. You've made a poor comparison considering games have a team and a drawing has one person. As well a hell of a lot more goes into video game development than drawing something. Also you missed my point entirely. Look as Asbel Ihant. They make a living doing this entirely without paywalling a thing. Your followers will pay you regardless so the paywall is pointless. It's scummy as fuck to just alienate your fans just because they can't afford to pay you. I sincerely don't understand where you people get your logic ever.

An argument over a price of horsedick drawings

i guess you could say this comic is.. dead in the water

Here's my small take on this already dead-end comic and argument.
Artist wanting pay for their content is perfectly fine, however, it's incredibly unsatisfying when art is displayed but with a portion of it covered up by a pay wall, in this case the rest of this comic. It'd probably be better off showing fewer pages, like just the cover and first page, then letting followers know the comic is available *here or there*.
I wouldn't personally pay for porn or much more similarly limited entertainment. But I advocate for artist making payed content either way... Just please don't make some art public only to cover up a portion of it...
