  • Woah thats really deep. I actually can empathize with him on all that. Its nice to cut the bullshit and get to how he actually is thinking and feeling. Can you call it real love if you feel indebted

*sorry not sure why it posted twice when trying to edit!

  • Hopefully therapy is suggested soon because Andy needs it. I am sure Cooper does not see it as you are indebted to him though because he has been in love with you since you were kids. The one he seems to want to spend the rest of his life with. Of course everyone is different and some people feel indebted whether or not the person they feel indebted to feels the same. But seriously, I really hope Andy gets some proper therapy to deal with the shit his father put on him.

  • Man this is a really good example of why unintentionally creating a power dynamic sucks. Andy probably doesn't even realize half of how much Coop feels is guilt so it makes sense as to why he's not just down to commit to something. He can't tell what's real and what's not when that's all he's feeling :/ , if only the boys could learn about ~ Communication ~

  • Sounds like you need space, Coop my guy. A degree or two of separation to clarify the mind.
And to ask yourself whether you can ASK for that.

It's undeniable Andy and Cooper both did best when they were completely out of eachother's lives. Sure, Coop was pretty much homeless at the time, but he got a good schedule and nobody messed with his head. And while Andy might not realize it, he is acting like Coop's his property...y'know what, scratch that, the way he acts around River, who might "steal" Cooper away by giving him some self esteem and actually have him deal with his shit, looks like Andy is well aware Coop won't straight out refuse him because he literally gives him a roof over the head. That would at least be an interesting twist.

I dunno about Andrew knowing Coop wont refuse him, but I will say his last name IS Oleander, which is a *toxic* plant. Now I don’t know how Jackaloo decides to name their characters, but that does seem a bit interesting of a coincidence, especially when the other characters arguably have more “normal” last names.

The way you are explaining this makes it sound like you think Andy is intentionally manipulating Cooper. I don't get this impression.
Also keep in mind, he might have mocked River to himself in private... but he at least attempted to be cordial when talking to them. Andy wasn't rude to River at all.
The most impolite thing Andy has ever said to River was "I know, it's fine! Uh, everyone's on the patio, so... go there." https://e621.net/posts/2889460
