  • I'm getting more of a Picard tbh, just from posture, features and body language. Though that would be a teacup if it were him.

Kirk would be an ocelot or something.

  • the cup made me wonder too. and i'm pretty sure this isn't "coffee, black" janeway.

then again, what would an android want with coffee?

    now i'm confused

Voyager's mess hall didn't have round tables.
    So you'd be right.

  • or, it could possibly be part of a story by Bernard Doove set in a totally different (semi startrek based) universe. if your curious, search google for "chakats den", the site should be the first result

'-a caitian officer on a federation starship. Right now he's kickin' it back in ten forward, drinking some coffee and looking out at nebulae.'

  • I'm pretty sure that no part of any Star Trek series takes place outside of the Milky Way Galaxy. Nowhere in the MWG is a nearby spiral galaxy that large, that bright, or at that angle, otherwise we would see it from Earth.
    geek rage, etc...

Except for the parts that took place in the Andromeda galaxy, Galaxy M-171, the Kalium Galaxy and the Triangulum galaxy. The first one is the closest spiral galaxy to the MWG, and the last is the second closest. Andromeda was visited in several episodes of TOS, and Triangulum was featured a couple of times in TNG.

  • I suppose I made an assumption based on warp technology. Getting to another galaxy in a timely fashion might be something that Q could do.

  • Not intending to resurrect a dead conversation; just adding my own analysis. Since this isn't being debated for tagging, the image title in the source is "Ten Forward." That indicates we're looking at NCC-1701-D from TNG.

I only see one spot that might be a rank pip, but no more. If that is a rank pip and there's only one, then this character is an Ensign and not one of our familiar command figures.

Finally, depending on how the quadrants line up with nearby galaxies, it is entirely feasible that a galactic neighbor could appear like this while viewed from inside the Milky Way. Since the Enterprise travels so far out, there is no reason to assume that the view of Andromeda or another neighboring galaxy would be at the same proportions we see from Earth.

  • That's a TNG uniform from a aft window from an Akira class assault cruiser (STO Escort) This is the original Akira, it had round tables in it. The retrofit doesn't have oval windows or round tables in the mess hall. No other Star ship had that design except for the Miranda class and it was decommissioned by TNG era.

  • Something else I think lots of people overlooked is the fact that Data's uniform was yellow, not Red (in 99% of the episodes). Something else is that Captain Picard is well known for drinking tea, no other character on The Next Generation (based on the uniform) is really known for drinking anything, so if an artist was to try to make it seem like a specific character a good way to do it would be with a hot brown liquid, presumably tea. Another factor is that if Picard were to be a furry his fur would almost undoubtedly be white or grey as shown in this picture.
All in all I think it's safe to assume that it's Picard, some of the other details being off when it comes to being on the Enterprise or not such as whether the table is round don't really mean much, the artist probably didn't feel like going back and checking the exact appearance of the tables or what specific ship it was on. Also, Picard has been on many different ships, so it could be one of those.

Besides, just look at his face; he looks exactly like Patrick Stewart! I mean, I knew who it was the moment I saw it.

Old post is old, I know, but while On Ship, Picard's "Earl Grey, Hot" always came in a coffee mug. The only time he used a proper tea cup was when it wasn't a replicated cup.
