If you seriously have trouble, use a Heavy or Frost Greatsword, volcano, and freezing pots. Freezing pots will stagger her even in the Waterfowl dance prep, and if you use Giant Hunt, it will fling her into the air if you can get a solid hit in. Lots of stagger, hell of a lot of damage. Frostbite slows, debuffs her. Then you just gotta practice. Its easier (for me at least) than any Bleed build, not that you can't effectively shred her that way either, but lots of heavy hitting weapons is great for moderate HP pool bosses.

This is oddly funny considering I just beat malenia like hour ago, she beat my ass sideways but damn was it satisfying when I finally killed her.

Ironically saw this while in cue for summons.
