If I can ask, what is Lonely Shark's story?

    I'm rather curious.

So far it seems that she's held a multitude of jobs, originally working with underwater maintenance and cleaning, barnacle removal, repairing/maintaining engines, etc. It seems that that's resulted in her suffering hearing damage, so she had to be let go. She's bounced around from job to job, probably partially due to the aforementioned hearing damage and her difficulty hearing outside of water anyway, including working at a... cannery, I guess is the term, but got fired for eating pieces of fish that weren't even going to be sold. Eventually, she got hired by the Deer Admiral as a maid and housekeeper, as first shown in this image:

And that seems to have given her a much more steady, less dangerous career, and though the Deer Admiral seems very strict and stern, none of it seems directed AT her so much as being his general personality. Plus he cares enough to know about her hearing difficulties above water and makes sure people speak clearly so she can read their lips and understand them. I really hope Sted draws the Admiral standing up for her, he's one of my favorite of Sted's more recent characters and I like that he's both a stern military man and also a very openly queer man in a physically passionate (though possibly not romantic) relationship with a... Hm. The hell is the Catboy's actual rank? Would it just be "sailor"? Still either way there ya go.

Doesn't seem like she suffered hearing damage, but that as an aquatic creature, her ears are ill adjusted to picking up sound outside of water and she just hears muffled mumbling, a bit like you or I would hear speech while underwater. Doesn't quite line up with the fact that she has gills and can breathe above water, but that was the explanation given by the artist from my understanding. Not biologically sound maybe, but it makes for an interesting character idea at least. I love this cute shark and I want to see her smile
