Anyway, I agree that the GINORMOUS PENIS you were likely referring to is unrealistic (and I'm happy when they're portrayed in more normal sizes), but it doesn't bother me too much. Dicks have a history of being drawn big in pornographic art, similarly to breasts. Whether an artist subscribes to this or not is always up to them.

Of course, FiM ponies are their own thing - even without considering stylistic choices, they don't have to (and indeed often don't) abide by horse anatomy rules.

If you are referring to the theme, straight non-anthro FiM pictures are produced exceedingly rarely nowadays and I'm a fan of them, so no complaint there.
If you mean the amount of attention paid to creating the image, I'm in two minds. Atryl can actually draw really well, but he might take more pleasure in making quick drawings, even if they end up somewhat messy. They make faster commissions, too.

(mainly worried that too many artists today get stagnant and hit art blocks or lose interest) And I sort of meant the amount of attention. As, they are very selective in this. (one of the biggest known examples for selective effort is Wolfy-Nail, whom on their tumblr came out with how they drew when they practiced: (most the time) Spend around 40-60 % of the time drawing the penis and the things they're already really good at, making sure they get it overly detailed and just right. Then around 30-50 % on the rest of it, adding color, shade and etc. 5 % for tuning up any detail that might need polish, then at the end, when they have close to no motivation or effort left, they lazily scribble in an excuse for the female genital. (and not flaming them here. It's literally more or less what they said. And this was in response to when I asked them how they practice drawing their female genitals...) For Atryl, it's sort of similar, they focus on what they already know, then just neglect what they're not very skilled at. In this case, it happens to also be the male/female genital detail. (though, know they're at least capable of drawing one type of basic vulva, unlike many other artists) And like said: Considering the amount of people unable to handle this if the detail effort is swapped around, I'm honestly surprised by how many that turns a blind eye for the opposite... ah well.
