Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.
Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.
Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

MemberSeriously, who tagged insect/arthropod? Those are species tags, as in, species of furry/anthro. People who search for them are looking for anthro insects, not ordinary insects. People who blacklist them are avoiding anthro insects, (or at the very least, giant insects), not ordinary insects. Nobody wants this page to pop up in their results, nor be stricken from their results, because there's an ordinary butterfly on a blade of grass in one panel. Am I wrong about that? Anyone out here actually searching for or avoiding images on a furry art website because they include ordinary insects?
I get the rule is "tag what you see" but in this case I'm pretty sure those tags are for when you see an ANTHRO insect, or at the very least a giant insect, or maybe an insect who is an actual character in the story, not a plain ordinary insect that just happens to be in one of the panels and is not important or relevant to the story or characters in any way.
(For my part, that's a blacklisted tag because I don't want to see insects fucking - I have absolutely no problem with a story where someone momentarily notices an ordinary butterfly while strolling through nature. If anyone has suggestions for how to alter my blacklist to be more precise, I'm all ears)

MemberThere are lesser-used "ambient_*" tags for random birds, bugs, and crabs hanging around in the background of an image, but as I said, they seem to be less-used than they should, probably because not everyone knows about them. If there's a tag combo to finagle "insect unless ambient_insect" or so, that could work.
