Furry tribute art to national disasters is never really appropriate.

You can't expect someone to change their entire art style if they wish to draw a commemorative picture. Furry art representing a national emergency is just as valid as any other as long as it's not distasteful, vulgar or mocking. I find this picture highly appropriate for the situation and am glad to see that artists out there are showing emotion for travesties like this.

I like the image, but I get the feeling the comments are gonna be bad.

Of course the comments are gonna be bad. They are bad only because they are viewed as bad by the people who keep on wanting to repeat the emotions that were felt that day. Now, if they had a family member or a friend that happened to be involved in the tragedy, then they have full right to be super defensive about the issue.

However, those that bandwagon the issue that keep on telling people to "go to hell" or "go kill yourself" because of making such comments? They do not understand world history enough to know this: Yes, this event may have been the first of attacks on America, but the death ratio is literally mere pennies in account to the other world disasters. Holodomor, Holocaust, Great Chinese Famine, Nagasaki/Hiroshima, Crusades, Pol Pot, Trail of Tears and the Rwandan Genocide. All those events costed over 1,000,000+ lives per account, with the Trail of Tears being a hugely unknown American genocide story, and the Crusades topping it all off by killing/controlling over almost the entire Eastern hemisphere of the globe and running their empire for almost a millennium.

I'm not defensive on the issue, I am defensive against those who put this truth to death and stake their claims above all to get backup from the bandwagon.

That little kid is probably how every child reacted. Lol

    Which makes this picture funny.

My reaction: *hears the words 'holy shit' from dad as I wake up and wonder what those words mean... being only 8 years old at the time*

  • Lest we forget the thousands of people who lost their lives, the men and women who came to work a civil life, only to have it tragically brought to an end in a new York minute. Be strong, Be brave. Justice has been served.

Tabitha and Timmy are very lucky, because them are too many young to understand the tragedy...

You'd be amazed to know just how much children are able to acknowledge from their surroundings. I was just 5years old when the 9/11 attacks struck, but I still remember it plain as the day. Despite my parents shielding me from the worst news reports, I and my fellow kindergardeners were still fully aware of the situation, though there were some uncertainity as to what had happened. Back than, we assumed it was just another airplane crash which resulted in large numbers of losses, which further resulted in a national shock to sweep across the nation (Norway) I live in. Only years later though did I learn what really happened that faithful day, but even in kindergarden, I was aware that something catastrophic had occured. Kids may not be aware just by watching the events, but the reactions their parents and other adults make upon hearing terrible news is enough to scare the living shit out of children. So yeah, to be honest, I feel bad for the young ones in the art piece above. Not because they would have to mourn alongside their fellow citizens, but because they would have to endure the pain of never having their questions answered as to what has happened, why did it happen, and why is everyone so upset and down about it. I asked those very questions, but the answers were not given until years later. Nowadays, now a grown up myself, I'm one of only a few that never shields children from the truth. If they ask what's going on, one shall give them the full story, as gruesome as the details are, it's a part of the world and the children have the right to know what's going on.

9/11 undoubtedly remains the biggest hole in my life, because the excruciating psychological pain I went through this period of time because of the lack of information as to what was happening around me as well as watching my own parents and the employees at the local kindergarden stay in a state of shock for several days on end, was the worst pain I have ever gone through.

  • These tributes form important snapshots in time, but they're a hindsight reminder that seeking justice through war is really expensive, and questionably just.

    Agreed, 9/11 was superb entertainment.
America is still way ahead of Old Europe when it comes to action blockbusters.

I still mourn those who died and sympathize with survivors (many of them still have nightmares of trying to escape while the explosives combusting left and right.

True, but there's a group of very evil cretins who dictate the world and get their kicks out of destroying innocent lives for their pleasure. They may hold power for a while longer, but their days are numbered and they will face the ultimate judgment, just gotta have a little faith...
