    "Awake" could simply be an intransitive verb in present tense here as I think it is usually seen as an adjective as a state of being when it can also be an action because it is an irregular adverb. You can be both the state of being awake (adjective) and act specifically in a way to wake someone up or to have someone awake (verb) in a transitive sense. Wake is a verb. Awake is an adverb. English is a fuck.
