  • Well... It was a symbol of fertility and (i think) prosperity before a certain Austrian made it what it is today...
It was widely loved until that point in time and history.

Oh, of course, a """maze""" tattoo. What's she gonna get next? An iron cross? The number 88? Moon Man?

Funny enough the Iron Cross Had nothing to do with the Nazi's, I mean it was their military symbol, but it was around way before the Nazi's. The 88mm was the size of German's signature cannon shell known for long range distance, and heavy penetration, plus it was highly accurate. The Swastika is also a Hindu Symbol for peace, The Nazi's just used it in their rampage tainting it in a bad light.

Hitler got his swastika from the Norse, who's symbolism often represent layers of intent. The symbol is a sun wheel, a bindrune incorporating Sowilo, the rune for the sun and victory. It could often be found in the decorative timberwork on farmhouses, in erections of branches lashed together in their fields, calling on the gods to nourish their crops. Ironically enough, neither Baldr or Sunna, both representing the sun, were known for hatred or violence.
