April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.

JanitorThere was time years ago when people started to use Patreons logo to censor their works. Back then this was still allowed, so uploading guidelines were updated to address that specifically.
Problem is that there's a lot of other scenarios where posts can still be censored e.g. japanese artists, who might additionally have patreon where they are sharing uncensored copies as there's less likely for them to get into trouble.
Even in this case I wouldn't be surprised if this version was actually meant for Tiktok and they obviously do not allow pornographic content.
Basically just because artist posted censored material and they have patreon, aren't enough for it to be considered unacceptable under guidelines advertisement section. What's much more clear and cut is if they do it with patreon or other crowdfunding platform logo.
Even then, guidelines aren't hard rules, janitors generally reflect uploads upon it and make decisions around it. There are cases where there's bad content listed in guidelines which might've gotten approved for some other aspect, so even bad things in guidelines aren't strictly forbidden (outside DNP which is also in rules).

This is the YouTube/censored version, so it's allowed either way. I've seen SEVERAL posts with the artist linking their Patreons in the description.
