Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

Description

"I had an aunt who was a lesbian. I didn’t find out until years after she died. Around my house, we just called her partner her “roommate”, and she never came to visit. I really wish I had known the truth when she was still alive, for a lot of reasons.

Anyway, this stuff isn’t made up. Everything Lasker says is something I’ve heard multiple times throughout my life, which is probably why so many of you seem to relate with having to deal with a family member like him. He’s a composite, not based on any one person I knew, but his controlling nature and inability to empathize with others is something you still see a lot these days."

  • Loving a fictional character is also something many of us can relate with, even in a tiny Game Boy screen.

Damn, now I want to know more about Raeford's aunt.

  • This definitely feels relatable, especially the 'not shoving it down are throats thing.' I have to wonder if Lasker woud've been as mad if it was a gay man, and only 'tolerates' Lasker's aunt because of the 'not shoving' or a mix of that and the weird way lesbian sex isn't always treated like 'real' sex.

I'm starting to notice I get a lot of likes for psychoanalyzing bigots and their lack of logic. Maybe that should be my gimmick for my e6 comments.

Lol same, it's a fascinating line of thought. Dunno why picking apart the jerks in these comics is fun, but it is. I guess it's a sign the artist is doing an EXTREMELY good job at keeping people hooked by making these sort of in-depth characters.
