Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.
Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.
Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

MemberCan we add VAs as tags? That sounds like something we (the community) could do under Artists tag

MemberThe site staff seem to be pretty adamantly against it. To quote NotMeNotYou on the subject: "The artist tags are specifically for people that directly worked on making the visual parts of the submission, either drawing the image or posing the 3D models. Voice actors and sound editors are not credited in the tags but can be credited in the description."
I personally believe they should be added as a tag, though maybe in their own section for clarity sake.

MemberSome VAs have sets with all the animations they've voiced. That's the closest we'll get it seems.

JanitorSome of us are pushing to add a 'Contributor' category, but adding that is more complicated than just copy + paste.

MemberA contributor tag would be cool

MemberI am not trying to throw stones, but honestly, it comes across as elitist for the site to treat sound and acting as inferior forms of art. Which is exactly what it comes across with how openly distasteful I've seen some of the site staff be of sound versions of animations, and with voice actors deserving the same level of accreditation as artists. I'm glad some of you are trying to push for a contributor category.
In some cases, I think a "contributor" category is even better. It means jasonafex could be stripped off "artist" on a lot of submissions and put down to contributor(as animator.) That just seems more ethical all the way around. Reserve artist for person responsible for the visual aspect of the presentation.

MemberThat's fucking stupid. VAs helped make the thing being posted, they should get a tag, no matter what they contributed. Even if it's in a separate category right under the artist one.

MemberOkay, this is gonna be controversial for me to say this but…here it goes:
Fenneko x Ookami is a better ship than Haida x Fenneko, at least in my opinion.
I said it.
