Description

Uploader's comment:

A fit boy Fidget.

I took character design inspirations from the boy Fidgets by Warden006, Ancesra and Tyson Tan.
I took inspirations from Devil-vox's art style (the thin lines and clean colors).

AIGC pictures were referenced:
https://ibb.co/D5RG6mX (same picture)

May I have a conversation here?

I only used an AIGC picture here as a reference. The picture itself was 100% hand painted from the ground up -- (not even a paint-over).

Is this still considered to be "AI generated"? Should I tag with "ai_generated" for this kind of picture in the future?

If it is only considered "AI assisted", do I need to tag such pictures with "ai_generated"?

I understand your concerns about AIGC, I just wanted to know where the acceptable boundary is, and I shall try to use a more ethical approach.

I'm capable of drawing a picture from ground up, without referencing AI and other artists work. But I find "mimicking manually and faithfully" (not direct copy-paste or paint-over) to be a very effective way to learn.

The only reason for me posting on e621 is to share the by-products of my art exercises. My only goal is to improve my skills.

Please have my sincere apology for the confusion. I think I should have described my approach from the beginning, not after other people brought it up. I think I let my ego getting in the way.

Please let me know your opinions!

  • Any chance this will be reposted on a site with less terrible rules? Was disappointed to scroll down to the source and find it blank, and can't find art from this artist anywhere else.

Our rules are more than fair.

  • This image is obviously not AI generated nor AI assisted. The mods have made a blatant mistake. Absolute love this author's work and their attitude toward art in general, they are a huge inspiration.

I agree. The author even specifically said that the drawing was made from the ground up, they just looked at an AI picture as a vague reference. It's sad to see poor moderation push away such fantastic hard work.
