Unlike the civilian fleet, the equipment of military spaceships is almost always centered on a specific species, and all crew members belong to the same species. This greatly reduces the complexity of maintaining and supplying ships, while at the same time increasing their efficiency and the quality of the crew's performance. Unfortunately, this means that being a passenger on an Alliance military ship is not always comfortable - even by military standards.
