walk of shame
You'd assumed her "long session" would be a few hours or so. Maybe overnight if she was in the mood for it.
You can't remember how many days it's been, but this was the fifth time you'd run off for help with your predicament. And for the fifth time, you were treated no different than as if you were actually a runaway pet - at this point you can't decide if somehow the whole town is in on your captor's twisted game or if they legitimately can't tell you're a person in a suit.
Either way, your efforts are once again rewarded with nothing but a misguided phone call to your presumptive owner, being walked home on a leash, and the smug look on her face as your status as her pet is further cemented.
When she tells you you'll be sleeping in a dog crate from now on, you get the sinking feeling that it isn't for extra security - she'd been holding out for this moment. She had wanted you to run off a few times first. She wanted you to know firsthand that it won't do any good.
