Sentient Dry-ice creatures, their exterior is made of snow accumulated from condensation in the air and soot black carbon. Having pupilless eyes formed from crystalized ice.
It can change shape and size, but growing in size takes much more time as the moisture in the air sticks to its body. Faster size increases if access to snow or water is close to freezing.
Their body produces snowfall when decreasing in size or shedding unwanted accumulation, which is especially strange in warm, humid environments.
At its core, it's a crude chunk of dry ice sprouting carbon tendrils that form the body's skeleton and is also how they move. Snow builds on top of it to give its body both rigidity and flexibility.
They mold their appearance based on their environment in an attempt to fit in better.
Despite the form changing, the snow portion of their body lacks detail.
The carbon simulates fur, hair, scales, feathers, and even clothing to a degree when necessary.
The carbon is detachable and will accumulate more over time.
A carbon-based gauze covers more or less of the body, depending on comfort level. When depressed, it will protect its whole body from head to toe in an attempt to heal itself from the pain it's experiencing. But when comfortable, the gauze will only appear in fashion.
Internal parts of the body that one would usually find flesh are instead chunks of ashen blue ice-coated snow.
If it believes someone is depressed or hurt, it will wrap them up in gauze in an attempt to help the individual feel better. Warranted or not.
When scared, it will hollow the core of its body to balloon in size in an attempt to ward off the threat, and it will spread out its carbon skeleton like a peacock.
The rigidity of the carbon can change between soft and hard, much like a muscle, and it's possible to use them like weapons or armor if absolutely necessary.
Spirited but blunt of the tongue. It is likely to say something unacceptable without realizing it.
Helpful nature always tries to offer assistance, even when it doesn't know what it's doing.
If you want to make your own character out of the species, feel free to do so. I won't crucify you for it.
