MemberAs I recall, Flareon's body temperature is around 1300 degrees. I don't think a few dozen degrees one way or the other will make much of a difference. Also can't be that cold if there's green grass everywhere.

MemberA couple degrees tend to make all of the difference with everything.
Grass can grow when it is cold, it just depends on the variety.
The point is that they will burn themselves out the same way that animals that struggle to control their body heat can experience issues if they do that.

MemberI don’t think you understand what they were saying. A couple degrees will not make a difference here, just saying it will without explanation doesn’t mean anything. In the case of flareon, heating up to over 1300 degrees means that 30 degrees or so will not be the determining factor for whether or not it overheats, especially considering that cold air already doesn’t really affect body heat at all unless you’re standing in it for literal hours.
Also, an interesting side note is that I think people misinterpret flareon “overheating” as being unhealthy for itself. I think in reality flareon controls its body heat for the sake of safety, as it can heat up to temperatures comparable to lava, which will hurt other animals and the environment. I don’t imagine flareon being able to swim in lava is all that outlandish, and lava can be much hotter than flareon’s max heat, so if flareon was truly in danger of overheating then those kinds of things would be out of the question.
