Description

Hard to pin down exactly how to explain this picture. Survival seems to be an understatement. This art holds a lot of meaning to me being just over a year and a month since a very nasty car accident. The wreck has changed a lot about me, a lot of how I think, function, and progress with my life now. Not trying to be bring down moods or things. Just one of those moments you reflect how far you've come in a year and just how radically different things have become because of it.

  • It's never good when the roof gives in from a frontal collision, though for cars of that age it was still fairly common. The MK1 Focus pictured was pretty good in '99 but still did bend a little like that in the NCAP test, so this one must've been crashed a fair bit harder than the 40% overlap crash at 64 km/h. That's one very nasty crash indeed.
Unfortunately the drivers left leg was found to be a major weak spot on that model in the NCAP report so... That checks out sadly. Ouch.
I hope the injuries were at least recoverable.

Almost recovered after a rod in my left leg, and reconstruction surgery on my left knee back in December.

    Glad to hear that.
Metal rods sure suck but they are at least pretty good at getting you patched up. May or may not have to get them removed later on. I'd imagine the knee surgery to be pretty horrible too.
I hope the rest of the recovery will be swift!
