Malachi came up with a good backstory. I wanted to read the rest of it.

  • Honestly, as long as those locations and flower are contained to just the backstory it doesn't much matter that they're not on the map.

Also, thus far everyone has put a good deal of themselves into their characters. If that pattern holds then we're getting a bit of Malachi backstory here. Though it probably isn't a one to one.

Yup, one of the very common mistakes any starting GM does is that when something doesn't fit their idea 100% perfectly they immediately oppose it. Takes a lot to be a bit flexible. Malachi's character backstory doesn't seem to be affecting too much, really. Still, it is important for the players to not overwhelm the GM either. GMs have to take care of the world, roleplay sometimes hundreds of NPCs, control the flow of combat and of course, be storytellers. Players would do well to ease up the burden rather than increase it.

Hopefully Inigo is not planning to turn this into a full on railroad campaign.

Maybe don't blow up a town if you're level 1, a tavern max
