MemberVizie really just casts her away like an after thought no arcs no meaningful goals just "stella wake up you gotta be the big bad in this episode"
Cosmicwolf90
MemberOn god bro, I desperately need her to have some sort of arc. She doesn't even need to be redeemed, I just want to know her background in full detail. Make me understand where she is coming from, that's all.
Slayerr928
MemberIIRC, Viv said Stella was going to get a backstory later on in the series

MemberThis hits close as someone who spent ages repressing being a lesbian. Helluva Boss really could needs some more lesbian rep and Stella wouldn't be a bad choice, not every gay character has to be likable. We have so many gay male characters, and then we have a singular lesbian I can think of in Helluva Boss who is restricted to a short and brief speaking in one episode. There's a definete imbalance in the representation. /rantover

MemberImma be honest, I don't know if she can pull off a decent backstory episode. Judging by the way she handles these characters. Maybe it'll be heat, maybe it'll be complete dog water. I'm not getting my hopes up, that's for damn sure.

MemberSounds like too little too late since they decided to make Stella the most vile character in the cast. So I don’t care if she was actually an orphan that got taken in and had the had the stress of it all get to her head making her think she’s not good enough. You should have had her character go through something beforehand because I don’t know if you guys know this but villians can have arcs too.

MemberUnfortunately Viv is an expert at squandering potential, so there was never really any hope to begin with.
RoyalHoney
MemberPeople are really acting like Viv and her team didn't do justice with Moxxie's, Blitzø and Fizz's, and Blitzø and Stolas' backstories.
I also find it amusing that the series isn't even over and people think there's no chance for character's to reach their full potential
SMP220
MemberIt all comes from people's inability to let go of their headcanons and accept that the show isn't going their way. It's the same mentality that ruined the "Attack on Titan" fandom.
Fishut564
MemberThat and she kind of throws a lot of ideas at the wall and just kind of forgets about them. I just don’t see how they paint Stella in a better light without some sort of cop out or just have her be rehabilitated with all of it done off screen
SMP220
MemberThis quote just proves my point that you're mad that the show contradicted your headcanon as the show has never forgotten anything about Stella and the show has never tried to paint her in a better light in the show's current state.
"The umbrella academy" has plenty of examples of what forgetting plot points and lazily solving them off screen actually looks like. Here are some examples:
The ending of s3 of the umbrella academy established that the creators of the universe used a supercomputer to create the world and this is never mentioned ever again.
S3 revealed that Number 5 created the temps commission and didn't give us that much context on how he did it hinting that this will be explored later in the show then the final season comes along and this is lazily solved through some brief and vague dialogue that creates more questions then answers.
The ending of s2 reveals that Sir Reginald Hargreaves was an alien this whole time then s3 further expands upon this by revealing that he has a tail that is sharp enough to be used as a blade and showing what his blood and guts look like but we never get to see his face or explore his homeworld. The creator of the show even said he wanted to do much more with SRH and his wife in the final season.
